Researchers

Clinician-Scientist

The clinician-scientists in the Singapore Eye Research Institute (SERI) provide the link between clinical practice, the discovery of disease mechanisms and new diagnostic and therapeutic applications. They work closely with basic scientists to create effective interdisciplinary research programmes. They also demonstrate academic ability to publish in peer-reviewed journals and to compete for research funding from external funding sources.

Research Scientist

SERI’s research scientists are responsible for designing, undertaking and analysing information from controlled laboratory-based investigations, experiments to trials. They are responsible for establishing an independent translational or clinical research programme in vision science or ophthalmology, which is central to development of translational research in the SERI and SNEC.
