Anti-Estrogen Type Drugs (For Men) - Side Effects, Precautions, and Contraindications

What side effects can Anti-Estrogen Type Drugs (For Men) cause?

The most common side effects of these medications include:

  • Abdominal discomfort, nausea, vomiting – To take it with or after food to minimize such incidences.
  • Headache – To take paracetamol to relief the headache.
  • Light headedness, dizziness, fatigue – Avoid activities which require mental alertness or operating heavy machineries.
  • Muscle ache or joint pains.

Inform your doctor if the above side effects become severe and bothersome.

 

There are some potentially rare but serious side effects that may be experienced. These include:

  • Breathing difficulties, chest pain
  • Swelling in the leg or arm
  • Pain or numbness in the leg
  • Yellowing of the eye or skin
  • Visual changes

Stop the medication and inform your doctor immediately if any of the above occur, or if you experience any other side effects or allergic reactions (e.g. rash, swelling of the eyes and lips, difficulty breathing).
