Education

SNEC regularly organises cataract surgery teaching courses for local and overseas eye doctors, such as the well-received annual Basic and Advanced Ophthalmic Microsurgical Workshop held at our centre.

We have a permanent, dedicated on-site wetlab for cataract surgery training.  Our centre continues to train international fellows from countries such as China, the Philippines and Indonesia.

Our team of cataract specialists also participates actively in international meetings such as those of the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, and the Asia-Pacific Association of Ophthalmologists, and other regional and local meetings, where they run training courses for a wider audience.

Some of our leading surgeons even conduct live cataract operations, sometimes with three-dimensional high definition technologies, to educate our fellow eye doctors.
