Your doctor may refer you for vision rehabilitation if you have low vision. In SNEC, our optometrists will provide a comprehensive low vision evaluation which includes the following:
Refraction (to ensure that spectacle prescription is up to date)
Contrast sensitivity test
Near vision test
Prescribing optical aids and glasses
Recommend and demonstrate use of suitable optical aids and accessibility functions on AT devices
Counselling on adaptive strategies to cope with eye condition
Further referral to other rehabilitation services as required. E.g. orientation and mobility training, accessibility and AT devices training, activities of daily living training, occupational therapy service.
