Prof Ecosse Lamoureux is a tenured Professor with Duke-NUS Medical School and hold professorial appointments with the National University of Singapore (Ophthalmology) and University of Melbourne (Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences). He undertakes his clinical research with the Singapore Eye Research Institute (SERI), where he has developed a nationally competitive population health research (PHR) program. He is the Director of Population Health and Epidemiology at SERI and leads a translational, clinical, and population health research programme focused on improving outcomes for individuals with sensory impairment. He is the Principal Investigator of PIONEER (The PopulatION HEalth and Age-Related SEnsory Decline PRofile), a large, ongoing, multi-ethnic population-based cohort study that examines the clinical, biological, and psychosocial characteristics of older Singaporeans to better understand the burden, consequences, and underlying mechanisms of age-related sensory decline. He also leads the patient-centred outcomes research component of SEED (Singapore Epidemiology of Eye Diseases), one of the world's largest population-based eye studies, contributing significantly to the understanding of the economic, social, and personal burden of vision impairment and ocular diseases in Singapore. To date, his overall research activities have attracted over SG$40 million in competitive grant and he has ~500 publications in top international journals, with a current H and i10-indices of 87 and 404, respectively.
