Profile

Dr Eva Fenwick is a Senior Clinical Research Fellow in the Population Health Research Unit at the Singapore Eye Research Institute (SERI). She also holds a joint appointment as an Adjunct Associate Professor at the Duke-NUS Medical School. Dr Fenwick has a keen interest in developing and validating ophthalmic quality of life item banks and computerized adaptive testing (CAT) systems using psychometric methods to help to better understand the impact of eye conditions, vision impairment and treatments from the patient’s perspective. Her current work aims to evaluate the feasibility, effectiveness and patient-centred impact of implementing quality of life ophthalmic CATs in tertiary eye institutes around the world. Dr Fenwick has published widely in patient-centred outcomes research and modern psychometric theory as well as other areas of health services research including health literacy, risk factors associated with development and progression of eye diseases, and the effectiveness of behavioural interventions to improve patient outcomes in ophthalmology.
