Glaucoma Observation Clinic

The Glaucoma Observation Clinic (GLOC) is a clinic where we monitor patients with the following conditions:

  • No glaucoma but at increased risk of developing glaucoma
  • Stable glaucoma

You will be referred to GLOC by our glaucoma specialists if your condition is deemed suitable.

In GLOC, we will monitor your vision, intraocular pressure, and visual field/optical coherence tomography (OCT) scan of your optic nerve. These will be done by our trained nurses and technicians.

Please note that you will not be seen by a doctor at that visit. If you have any new visual complaints (e.g., increased blurring of vision), please inform the nurse to have it recorded in your medical notes.

Your medical notes and results will then be reviewed by a doctor in the glaucoma team within one month. Depending on the doctor’s assessment, one of the following will be arranged for you:

  • You will be given an appointment in the glaucoma clinic for further examination or tests
  • You will be given a follow-up appointment in GLOC if your condition is stable but still requires monitoring
  • You will be discharged if you are no longer at increased risk of developing glaucoma

You will be informed via SMS regarding the outcome of the visit. Medications, if any, will be sent via courier service to your address.
