Visit Us for a General Eye Examination
Why Are Regular Eye Exams Important?
Many eye conditions develop without symptoms. In Singapore, around 50% of the population has some form of vision impairment. Regular eye exams could catch serious eye diseases like glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and diabetic retinopathy, some of which often show no early signs.
When Should You Get an Eye Exam?
Regular eye checks are useful for maintaining good vision and detecting early signs of eye conditions or other health issues. The recommended frequency for eye examinations is dependent on the presence of any existing eye condition, age and the medical history of each person.
Healthy individuals can have their eyes screened by optometrists in the community / neighbourhood or equipped General Practitioners (GP) every 1-2 years. Individuals with existing eye conditions, diabetes, or a family history of eye disease may require more frequent check-ups. If significant findings are detected, or if there are specific concerns, they may be referred for an eye specialist’s assessment.
