Programme Overview
Continuing optometry education is organised bi-monthly to help professionals keep abreast on the up-to-date knowledge and technology related to Optometry. This ensures that Optometrists maintain their knowledge and practice at a competent level and participate in continuing professional education activities.

Continuing professional education (CPE) consists of educational activities that serve to maintain, develop or increase the knowledge, skills and professional performance of optometrists and opticians. It is important for the practitioners to continue upgrading their professional competence to provide up-to-date services to the public. To ensure this, the Optometrists and Opticianary Board (OOB) oversees a CPE framework to help practitioners to stay conversant.

The Board had recently enhanced the CPE framework and it is now mandatory for all professionals with full registration to declare their CPE credits obtained during the qualifying period at their next PC renewal. Participants will be awarded 1 CPE point by OOB.
