About

Dr Stephen Ng is a Senior Consultant in the Oculoplastic Department of the Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC).  He obtained his medical degree from the University of Otago in New Zealand in 1987. In 1997 he gained Fellowship of the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO). From 1997 to 2000, he undertook post-fellowship training in England including a fellowship in oculoplastic, lacrimal & orbital surgery at the Manchester Royal Eye Hospital. In 2000, Dr Ng was appointed as a Consultant Ophthalmic, Oculoplastic & Orbital Surgeon at Waikato Hospital, New Zealand.  He was awarded the Fellowship of the Australian & New Zealand Society of Oculoplastic & Reconstructive Surgeons in 2002. In 2002, he was also appointed as an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Auckland.  He has twice been awarded the RANZCO “Award for Excellence in Training”.

To date, Dr Ng’s academic contributions include co-authoring 23 peer-reviewed scientific papers and two book chapters.  He is currently involved in research on eyelid reconstruction, periorbital infections and the use of artificial Intelligence in oculoplastics.
