About

Dr Nathalie Chiam is a Consultant at the Singapore National Eye Centre and KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, and a Clinical Assistant Professor at Duke-NUS Medical School. 
 
She specialises in paediatric ophthalmology, with a particular interest in strabismus surgery in both children and adults. She also practises general ophthalmology in adults, performing cataract surgery using the latest techniques and intraocular lenses.

Dr Chiam graduated from the University of Melbourne with honours, earning both her medical degree and a Bachelor of Medical Science. She was consistently placed on the Dean’s list every year during her medical training in recognition of her academic excellence. She completed her specialist training under the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME-International) at SNEC, receiving the Outstanding Resident award in 2017 and 2018, and serving as Chief Resident from 2018-2020. She holds a Master of Medicine in Ophthalmology and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists. 

Beyond her clinical work, she is actively engaged in clinical research and education. She has presented her research at numerous international conferences and peer-reviewed journals. She is a clinical tutor and lecturer in Ophthalmology at NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, Duke-NUS Medical School, and NTU Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine. Passionate about education, she regularly mentors residents and fellows to nurture the next generation of ophthalmologists.
