After obtaining her medical degree from NUS, she completed her specialist training in Ophthalmology and became Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) and the Academy of Medicine Singapore in 2008. Following this, she embarked on a one-year Neuro-Ophthalmology fellowship at SNEC. In 2009, she received the Higher Manpower Development Programme (HMDP) award from the Ministry of Health and completed a one-year fellowship in Clinical Neuro-Ophthalmology at the Wilmer Eye Institute, The Johns Hopkins Hospital, USA under the preceptorship of Professor Neil Miller, an international leader in the field of Neuro-ophthalmology.
As a Clinician Educator, she wears multiple hats as an educator in Ophthalmology. She is the Director of Undergraduate Education and the Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences Academic Clinical Programme and oversees the ophthalmology training of medical students from three medical schools – Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine at NUS, Duke-NUS and Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine at NTU. She is a member of the Core Faculty of the Singhealth Residency Programme (Ophthalmology) and is actively involved in the training of ophthalmology residents.
