Appreciation to Staff

Thanks, doc!

Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, our Minister for Foreign Affairs, offered some very encouraging words for SNEC on his Facebook page. Thanks, Dr Balakrishnan! We are inspired by the anecdotes you shared. This will surely spur us to work even harder to contain the COVID-19 virus.

Showering Team SNEC-SERI with care

To boost everyone’s spirit during this difficult period, our management prepared a care pack for each and every employee, including frontliners on duty at the Expo and dormitories; and those stationed at offsite locations, such as the eye clinics at Changi General Hospital, KK Women's and Children's Hospital and Sengkang General Hospital.

All of us were touched by this beautiful gesture — you can’t really tell, but we’re all smiling our mask. See our reactions in the photos! And even though the whole nation is looking forward to the easing of some Circuit Breaker restrictions in June, we will keep our eye on the ball and remain vigilant, using the products in the care pack, of course!

We got cupcakes!

Many thanks to Island of Hope for delivering 150 yummy cupcakes on 12 May 2020 to SNEC — our diligent COVID-19 frontline workers truly appreciated this wonderful gesture of support for their important task. Thanks also to Prof Jod Mehta for making the connection.

Island of Hope is a non-profit initiative comprising volunteers who bake for a good cause. Check them out at:

Here are some photos commemorating the day the cupcakes were delivered.

6 swabs a minute!

SNEC was part of a team of more than 30 healthcare workers who assembled yesterday at Redhill Close, where they swabbed 490 migrant workers in about 80 minutes — that’s roughly 6 swabs a minute!

This amazing result was achieved not only because there was good ground support from the Jetstar crew, but also because the healthcare team was united in spirit and purpose.

Strumming our pain with her fingers

Many thanks again to all of you who lent your voices earlier tonight on the national song, ‘Home’. Our staff on the COVID-19 frontline were very touched and encouraged.

Among the many people who sang their hearts out was a talented young lady called Yutong. Check out her heartfelt rendition in this video — she even accompanied herself on the ukulele. Her mum, our OT nurse Ho Sweet Fong, must be so proud!

Thank you Singapore and Yutong!

Clap for SGUnited

At 8pm on 30 March, Singaporeans came together in spirit to applaud the efforts of everyone working hard to keep Singapore safe and healthy. Loud claps and cheers could be heard from windows, doors and balconies of homes across the island!

A heartfelt thank you to all Singaporeans for your kind thoughts towards all healthcare workers, and everyone on the frontlines who leave the safety of their homes every day to fight COVID-19.

Thank you for showing your solidarity! We can feel your love!

Thank you, SingHealth!

As the fight against COVID-19 persists, SingHealth’s leaders and senior management specially prepared and distributed hand sanitisers to all of us at SNEC and SERI.

The thoughtful gift has certainly given us a great morale boost. With the support of our management and the public, we are more motivated than ever to work together in battling COVID-19!

We are thankful for the care and encouragement. Let us continue to practise good hand hygiene and look out for one another!

Together, we will overcome the challenges as One SNEC-SERI! Stay safe, healthy and informed!

Token of Appreciation from HSEU

The HSEU (Healthcare Services Employees’ Union) paid a special visit to SNEC on 11 March 2020 to give out care packs for our staff. The HSEU team was accompanied by SNEC’s COO Charity Wai, Chief HRO Lim Mui Huang, Director of Nursing Loh Huey Peng and Deputy Director of Nursing Aw Ai Tee during the walkabout.

As a token of appreciation, staff were given granola bars and hojicha drinks to thank them for their hard work and tenacity amid the COVID-19 situation. Stay strong and take care, everyone!

“Let us overcome this ordeal together. We will always be by your side.” - HSEU
