The Clinical Audit Department was set up in 1991 as part of SNEC’s focus on quality assurance, commitment to the highest standards of clinical governance and the delivery of safe and high-quality ophthalmic care.
Clinical audit was introduced by SNEC’s founding Medical Director, the late Professor Arthur Lim. It was his belief that, “a patient’s eye is not for experimentation”. He placed high importance on a patient’s well-being and implemented several quality assurance initiatives to develop a culture of excellence at SNEC.
