Profile

Clinical Associate Professor Sunny Shen is a Senior Consultant of Oculoplastic Department at Singapore National Eye Centre. Clinical Associate Professor Shen graduated with merit from the University of Hong Kong and received his Master of Medicine (Ophthalmology) degree from the National University of Singapore.  He completed his Ophthalmology training with specialist accreditation and was admitted as Fellow in the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and the College of Ophthalmologists, Academy of Medicine, Singapore.

Besides general ophthalmology, Clinical Associate Professor Shen continued to pursue subspecialty development in Oculoplastic surgery.  He completed his fellowship at the Singapore National Eye Centre and was awarded the MOH Health Healthcare Manpower Development Program (HMDP) scholarship for further training in Adnexal surgery at the Moorfields Eye Hospital, United Kingdom.

In additional to general oculoplastic surgery, Clinical Associate Professor Shen’s areas of interest include lacrimal surgery, orbital surgery, thyroid eye disease, orbital trauma, paediatric oculoplastic surgery, congenital anophthalmia, and lid oncology.  He runs his service in Singapore National Eye Centre, Changi General Hospital and KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital.

Clinical Associate Professor Shen’s research interests include Asian eyelid and orbital anatomy and Immunoglobulin G4-related orbital disease.  He has authored and co-authored numerous research papers.
