Profile

Dr Tan Chee Wei is a family physician and consultant with the Department of Care & Health Integration at Changi General Hospital (CGH). After graduating from the National University of Singapore (NUS) Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine in 2005, he worked in the various clusters of primary care in Singapore, namely SingHealth Polyclinics, National Healthcare Group Polyclinics as well as the Family Medicine Center and private practices before joining CGH in 2015. Dr Tan is now involved in the care integration and reconciliation of medical care within the hospital, and is also actively involved in community healthcare, working closely with the community nurses to improve care transitions from hospital to home.

Dr Tan is interested in medical education, and has been appointed tutor as well as examiner for the Graduate Diploma of Family Medicine (GDFM) programme with the College of Family Physicians Singapore (CFPS). He is an appointed member of the Adjunct Teaching Faculty for the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, as well as a Physician Faculty Member for SingHealth Family Medicine Residency Programme. He believes a good physician treats the disease but a great physician treats the person who has the disease and finds great joy in empowering his patients.
