Profile

Dr Alvin Tan obtained specialist accreditation in diagnostic radiology in 2012 and worked as a radiologist in Khoo Teck Puat Hospital from 2012 to 2019. During this time he engaged cardiac CT and MR imaging and helped to create the CT coronary angiogram service for patients in the Emergency Department with acute chest pain.

Dr Tan was then appointed Clinical Senior Lecturer at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine (National University of Singapore) and member of the KTPH Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee.

• Since November 2018, co-investigator in PITRI (Platelet Inhibition to Target Reperfusion Injury) study organized by SingHealth Duke-NUS Academic Medical Centre, providing cardiac MRI at KTPH as part of a multi-hospital trial to investigate if IV platelet inhibition will reduce infarct size in STEMI patients
