As a
testament and commitment to expand our network with nearby community partners,
we also had the honour of welcoming seniors from the Methodist Welfare Services
Active Ageing Centre - Golden Lily@Pasir Ris to the event. Their ukelele and
song performance of the classic medley of “You are my Sunshine” and “小白船”
radiated happiness and warmth to those who were present, and delivered a

As our VIPs passed
by level 1M, they were introduced to a hand-painted wall mural in the clinic.
This masterpiece, created by visual artist, Mr Muhd. Ridhuan from CANVAS, an
arts support group for former inmates, features the unique icons of Pasir Ris,
such as its lush mangroves, Downtown East, the beloved fishing pond and the
majestic spotted wood owls of Pasir Ris Park. The beautiful mural was completed
with the help of nearly 20 people, including volunteers from PAssionArts, SHP
Helping Hands volunteers, and staff from SHP-Pasir Ris and our HQ Office. By
bringing the icons of Pasir Ris Town into the polyclinic, we hope to inspire
healing, creativity, and a sense of familiarity and community when residents
visit us for their primary care needs.
Minister Ong Ye
Kung, SM Teo Chee Hean and Mr Cheng Wai Keung were then invited to add the
finishing strokes to the wall painting to symbolise the completion of the
mural, leaving a lasting testament to this artwork.

Across
the wall mural is a wall showcasing scenic landscapes and abstract paintings by
inmates from the Visual Arts Hub, a rehabilitative workshop under the auspices
of the Singapore Prison Service. This is part of SHP Healing Arts Programme to
harness the power of art into our polyclinics and provide a calming and
therapeutic experience for our patients and staff. The paintings are open for
adoption, with proceeds supporting programmes under Changi Medical Facility
(CMF).
There
is also a special artwork, created from the fingerprints of our SHP-Pasir Ris
staff, in commemoration of our move to the redeveloped new polyclinic. This
artwork signifies our unwavering commitment to our SingHealth Philosophy:
Patients At The Heart Of All We Do.”
We
invite you to luxuriate in the paintings the next time you visit SHP-Pasir Ris.
