"I chose to be a Pharmacy Assistant because I have a genuine interest in healthcare and caring for others. I am keen to learn about the different types of medication and how different drugs work in the human body to treat them. Through understanding the different drugs and medications, I am able to dispense medications accurately and advise patients on queries regarding the medication for their conditions. In my role, I am able to increase my healthcare knowledge and care for patients at the same time.
On a personal level, I enjoy interacting with people, so being a pharmacy assistant in a patient-facing role really suited me. As the only member in my family working in the healthcare industry, I feel a need to apply what I learnt at work, to look after the people I care most deeply about. My family’s health is a top priority for me, so it is important to me to ensure that my family can take care of their health and well-being.
Working in CGH has allowed me to expand my knowledge and interest in the pharmaceutical field. One of the most rewarding things about working here is the opportunities available to upgrade my skills. Although I have not been here for a long time, I am thankful that my superiors are supportive of me pursuing a part-time diploma course to improve my skills."
