Infraorbital area hollowing, nasolabial fold deepening due to ptotic malar tissue cause aging appearance and somtime lower lid decent. The ptotic tissue can be repositioned by midface lift (through transconjunctival or endoscopic approach) to a higher level with softening of the nasolabial fold, recreation of the desired youthfull fullness and sometime better lid globe position.

With aging, the tissues of the face also sag and droop, resulting in prominent creases between the cheeks and the side of the nose and mouth. These nasolabial folds tend to impart a tired and weary appearance.

The nasolabial folds can be diminished significantly by surgery aimed at lifting the mid-face. This can be performed via small incisions hidden behind the hairline. Alternatively, the mid-face can be lifted at the same time as lower eyelid blepharoplasty.
After the surgery, patients can expect softening of the nasolabial fold and a more youthful appearance.
