Aesthetic eyeplastic surgery has evolved in the last decade. Eye plastic surgeons have to deal with the orbitofacial problems surgically because of the anatomical lid/face continuum. The expanding and extended scope of this surgery can no longer be limited to the eyelid. Cosmetic eyelid surgery helps to reverse the effects of aging by removing excess skin and fat. It can also help you regain a youthful appearance and make you look less tired. In some instances, drooping upper eyelids can impair vision. With new technologies recovery times have been reduced over the years. The common procedures available are: minimally invasive or small-incision eyelid, forehead, and periorbital rejuvenation surgery. Combination of functional and aesthetic restoration procedures are used to improve the aging periorbital problems.

Common procedures available in the service are:

  • Blepharoplasty
Blepharoplasty is a very common aesthetic procedure performed by eye surgeon. It is designed to remove excess fat along with skin and muscle from the eyelids to improve appearance and sometimes visual function. The goal of modern aesthetic eye lid surgery should be to make the eyes look better rather than different.

  • Endoscopic Browplasty
Unfortunately as we age, our forehead tissues begin to sag downward, particularly above the eye regions. This procedure corrects the unstable/sagging eyebrow which can affect visual function and make a person appears sad, tired or angry. Endoscopic browplasty helps to open the area around the eyes and achieve the functional restoration of eyebrow/lid complex. Traditional coronal incisional has been taken over by this current mini-incisional endoscopic approach which is the second most common procedure done by asethetic eyeplastic surgeon.

  • Mid-face lift
Infraorbital area hollowing, nasolabial fold deepening due to ptotic malar tissue are causes of aging appearance and somtimes lower lid decent. The ptotic tissue can be repositioned by midface lift (through transconjunctival or endoscopic approach ) to a higher level with softening of the nasolabial fold, recreation of the desired youthful fullness and sometimes better lid globe position.
Other non incisional periorbital rejuvenation procedures are Botox and tissue filler injection.
