CLINICAL SERVICES - OCULAR INFLAMMATION & IMMUNOLOGY

RESEARCH

Research is one of the core activities of the Ocular Inflammation & Immunology Service. Major research projects undertaken include new treatment modalities, uveitis epidemiology and multicentre studies of new intraocular drug delivery systems.

Our head of service, Associate Professor Chee Soon Phaik, is a member of the International Uveitis Study Group and was one of the first doctors to describe the association of cytomegalovirus in anterior uveitis. She has also been published extensively in the medical literature regarding this experience. Our Service is also the first to describe the pathology of the macula as a result of Dengue fever and have published our experience in international literature.
