Singapore to coordinate Asia eye-banking network
The New Paper
Patients who need corneal transplants from the eye bank now stand a better chance of finding a match.
The Singapore Eye Bank (SEB) and the Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC) will be working with other Asian eye banks to allow higher rates of corneal donation, better medical eye-banking standards and more corneal transplants in Asia, reported The Straits Times.
Called the Association of Eye Banks of Asia (AEBA), the multi-country network will be coordinated in Singapore, said the medical director of both SEB and SNEC, Donald Tan.
