SNEC is 18 years old in 2008, surely an auspicious occasion to have our 18th anniversary scientific meeting! As SNEC has grown and matured over the years, we have developed our educational programmes in tandem with research and clinical activities.

The theme of this meeting is ‘The Practical Ophthalmologist’ and our challenge to the SNEC team is to come up with a comprehensive range of teaching courses from which we can all learn something that will enhance our patients’ lives. We promise that you will learn at least one useful technique, if not more, from this meeting.

We will have the latest in 3-Dimension, High-Definition (3D-HD) live surgery, state of the art symposia, video competition and video film theatre featuring award winning videos, prize winning photographic exhibition, dedicated nursing programme and a comprehensive hands-on anterior and posterior segment imaging course. Two other exciting events are happening pre-congress and leading into our main meeting: the Asia Cornea Society will be holding its inaugural meeting on Sentosa Island and the SNEC Orbital Meeting will feature case-based teaching and problem solving. There will of course be a large exhibition of the latest offerings from the industry.
